Managing Your Calendar & Lessons

Keeping your calendar up-to-date is essential for a smooth tutoring business. Learn how to manage your availability, handle time zones, and understand our lesson policies.


Setting Your Availability

Your availability dictates when students can book lessons with you. Make sure you only select hours you are truly available.

  • Weekly Schedule: Set your recurring weekly hours in the Availability tab. These are the default times students will see.
  • Time Zones: We automatically detect your local timezone, but you can manually override it if you are traveling. The system automatically converts your availability to the student's local time zone when they view your profile.
  • Booking Notice: You can set a buffer (e.g., 1, 3, 12, or 24 hours) so students cannot book a lesson at the absolute last minute.

Lesson Policies

We rely on communication and mutual respect between tutors and students. Here is how our system handles scheduling issues:

Rescheduling & Cancellations

Students can request a reschedule from their dashboard. When they do, the request will appear on your Tutor Calendar. You have the option to Approve the request (which automatically refunds their lesson credit) or Deny it (which flags the lesson for admin review). You can also proactively cancel a lesson yourself, which immediately refunds the student.

Completed vs Missed Lessons

After a scheduled lesson time has passed, you will be prompted to confirm if the lesson took place. If it was completed successfully, your payout will be released. If the student missed the lesson or there was a major technical issue, you can mark it as "Missed / Report an Issue" to flag it for our team to resolve.
